In summer, an industrial building often turns into an overheated metal box. LIKO-Street in Slavkov u Brna works differently. Its green façade, built with the PLANTaTILE hydroponic system, shades the building’s surface in hot weather and cools it through water evaporation. A biosolar roof also reduces the heat load on the structure and retains rainwater.
The results are measurable: the green surfaces provide 91.2 kW of cooling power, roughly equivalent to 38 air-conditioning units. The interior is more comfortable in summer, and cooling costs are lower.
